Meet Dr. Chris Baldwin
Dr. Chris Baldwin did his undergraduate studies at the University of Windsor, completing an honours degree in biology and a minor in biochemistry. Dr. Baldwin studied dentistry at University of Detroit Mercy School of Dentistry, where he graduated in 2002 in the top 10 % of his class and received an award for oral pathology. He has practiced dentistry since 2002 and moved to Dryden in 2009. After associating for 10 years, Dr. Baldwin opened his dental practice on King Street in August 2012. During his time off, he enjoys fishing,
four-wheeling and taking care of his beloved pets.
Dental Hygienist and Office Manager
I continue to have a fulfilling career in the dental field. I graduated from the Dental Assisting and Dental Hygiene Programs at St. Clair College in Windsor, Ontario. In 2014, I received a certificate in recognition of 25 years of continuous membership in the Ontario Dental Hygienists Association. Recently, I also received from the Canadian Dental Hygiene Association my 25-year recognition certificate and silver commemorative pin.
I had the unique experience of helping Dr. Baldwin to set up his first dental practice, known as King Street Family Dental. This experience included the positions of Dr. Baldwin’s first employed dental hygienist and office manager. Due to the continued growth of the practice, years later I continue to work part-time as a Dental Hygienist; however, I spend the majority of the week fulfilling the office manager role.
I am a native of Northwestern Ontario, as I was born and raised in Red Lake and have lived in Kenora, Thunder Bay and Dryden since 2000. I have celebrated my 25th wedding anniversary and have two adult children plus a dog. I look forward to continuing to work with Dr. Baldwin and the King Street Family Dental team.
I was raised in the Ottawa area and moved to Northwestern Ontario over 30 years ago. I spent 12 years in Sioux Lookout, working for the dental department at the Menoyawin Health Centre and then relocated to Dryden in 2001 because of my husband’s job. I worked as a Dental Hygienist for Dr. Keith Eichel for 15 years and when he retired in 2015, moved over to King Street Family Dental on a permanent basis. I married my college sweetheart, Ken, over 27 years ago. We have two sons, Josh and Geoff. When I’m not at work, I enjoy walking, playing golf, baseball, curling and kayaking. I’ve always found the dental field to be a rewarding career. I get to meet a lot of different people, and I value the professional relationships I’ve developed with my clients over the years. I’m pleased to be part of an excellent team at King Street Family Dental. I look forward to meeting new clients, and I’m always pleased to see my returning ones!
I was born and raised in Dryden, Ontario. I graduated from the Confederation College program of Dental Hygiene in 2015 with First Class Standing. I had worked at another Dryden clinic while in school, doing reception and sterilization, and after graduation began working as a receptionist and hygienist with the same clinical staff. I worked temporarily as a float assistant and enjoyed learning different areas of the Dental field, but I am very pleased to have joined the King Street Family Dental team as a part-time Dental Hygienist in December 2016.
Part-Time Dental Assistant
Debbie joined our team as a part time Dental Assistant in 2018. We appreciate her happy disposition and vast dental experience that she brings to our team. Debbie has over 10 years of Dental Assisting experience working with various Dentists over the years. Debbie grew up in Hudson, near Sioux Lookout. Debbie has 3 children who keep her busy. When she is not working, usually you can find her with at least one of her children doing some activity together. She loves the north and embraces the challenges that living in a smaller community brings.
After living in Dryden most of my life, I left “the nest” and ventured off to college for four years. Upon graduation from the American Sign Language Interpreter program, I received my dream job with the Keewatin-Patricia District School Board. I interpreted for many years with the school board and had the privilege of creating a lifelong relationship with a student I was interpreting for.
With her graduation came a change in careers for me. From there I gained experience in several different settings, varying from the hospital and hearing centre to furniture sales. With the career change, I met and married my best friend. Soon after, we started our beautiful, little family. Finding the passion to help people led me to King Street Family Dental, where I am a non-certified dental assistant.
When not at work, you will find me enjoying the lake on our boat with the family or being creative, scrapbooking or redecorating the house.
I was born and raised in Dryden Ontario but moved to North Bay for three years of college to complete my dental hygiene diploma. After graduating I moved back home to pursue my career in dental hygiene. I began my career working at Dryden Dental Clinic and gained five years of experience. I enjoyed seeing patients regularly, building relationships, treating oral disease, and promoting oral health. I am excited to put my skills to work at King Street Family Dental where I can continue to educate clients and help them reach their oral health goals.
When I'm not at work I enjoy snowboarding, walking my Boxer, fishing, going to church, health and fitness, and spending time with my family, which recently grew when I had my son Caleb in June 2018.
I am very excited to be part of the team here at King Street Family dental and look forward to building professional relationships with my clients.
I was born and raised in Dryden, and lived here my whole life. In January of 2019, I started at King Street Family Dental. A relative of mine worked here at the time, and told me of an opening. I was very excited to be welcomed to this wonderful team. I started with no knowledge about the dental field but everyone was always willing to help me out and answer any questions. I have since learned so many things. My main duties are sterilization and phone calls; I have learned some of the reception side, and a bit of dental assisting as well.
